Behind Closed Doors is the first book I've read by J.L. Berg, but I know I will be reading a lot more now.  This is the story of Roman Cavenaugh and Cara Hamilton.  Roman is a billionnaire, but this is not your typical billionnaire romance.  Roman is older than Cara, richer than Cara, and powerful.  BUT he's also insecure.  He doesn't have an abusive past like some other characters I've read about, but he feels inadequate.  Roman grew up with a brilliant younger brother.  Next to him Roman always felt inferior.  So he pushes himself every day to be the best.

Cara is a young college graduate.  She's from Nebraska and is extremely naive.  Cara isn't inexperienced sexually (she's had a boyfriend for years), but she's very inexperienced about the world and the city.  

I had thought I wouldn't like Roman.  He's abrupt and expects things to be done his way, but when he meets Cara all of that changes.  He gained my trust and my sympathies.  He becomes a different (better) person around Cara and I really grew to like him.  

Behind Closed Doors  is a standalone romance.  It's an easy, lighthearted read that was just right for easing back into the busy school year.  I give Behind Closed Doors FOUR STARS!
