Title: No White Knight
Author: Alta Hensley
Release Date: December 2, 2016

Not the perfect hero.
Not her Prince Charming.
He was...No White Knight.

Two stories, two women, two very dark men.

Hero in Disguise

Kidnapped and brought to an isolated military compound in the backwoods of West Virginia, Jessa Crowe realizes there is much more hidden in the dark depths of the hemlock trees.

She is surrounded by hate, sex, torture, and death. Only to be claimed by the devil himself--Decker Cassidy. But what Jessa soon discovers is that her captor may very well be her hero in disguise.

Pallid Slave

I hate the color white. When I see white, I see the darkest shadows in the depths of hell. Colorless, yet black as coal.

My planet of Unin had all but been destroyed, and what was left was quickly being devastated by civil wars throughout. Everything I once believed, once knew, once fought ruthlessly to protect, had now vanished. Once I was a warrior, and now I was a slave being transported to a planet 720 hours away to die. Transported by two brothers.

A lot can happen in 720 hours...

I haven't read a book by Alta Hensley in a while.  I liked the books I read years ago and I'm not sure why her books fell of my radar.  If the two stories in No White Knight are any indication of her storytelling I definitely need to read more of her books and I will (I'm hoping for lots of Amazon gift cards for Christmas).

No White Knight is two stories put in one anthology. The first story is "Hero in Disguise."  It is the story of Jessa and Decker.  Jessa gets kidnapped by white slavers while taking a stop from driving on a deserted country road.  The people who kidnapped Jessa have kidnapped lots of girls to be used as breeders.  Jessa is then "given" to Decker.  She's his to do with what he pleases.  But all isn't as it seems.  Decker is dominant, sexy, and in the end a really good guy.  Jessa is smart and sassy.

The second story in the anthology is "Pallid Slave."  This is a futuristic/alien romance book with a menage.  It's the story of Truth and twin brothers Pike and Cross.  Alta Hensley created an interesting world in this story with humanoid characters that have traits humans don't possess.  Pike and Cross are both dominant (although one is definitely the most dominant and the other is more nurturing).  Truth is a former soldier, but now a slave.  She's strong, but knows when to give in.  I loved the relationship between the three.  It does definitely have it's sad moments though, especially toward the end.  You'll have to read to find out more.

I liked these two short novellas and give No White Knight FOUR STARS!
